Many of you know our first-born pet....Pete! Pete hasn't been himself lately so we had some bloodwork done. We learned that Pete is diabetic and will need to begin insulin treatment. Deciding to begin on-going medical care for a pet is a hard decision. We know the world of diabetes all too well and know that it is tricky but also a fully survivable diagnosis.

Pete will begin his insulin treatment soon! We talked about how to cover the costs. Thankfully, once his dosage and blood sugar numbers are regulated, the cost lessens.

We've decided to begin Pies for Pete! Our most-used nickname for him is Petey Pie so it feels fitting. Pies for Pete is a monthly commitment. You pledge to pay $35 a month for one pie, ready between the 1st and 6th of the month beginning in November. The pie options will vary to include seasonal options.

We have some goodies left from last night! We have 3 pounds of brisket, 2 pounds of pork, and 1/2 pound of turkey, as well as a small pan of mac and cheese. Who wants some?!
