Do you know who Elizabeth Thorn is? In honor of Women's History Month, we would like to recognize the accomplishments of this remarkable woman. Elizabeth Thorn was caretaker of Evergreen Cemetery while her husband was fighting for the Union Army. After the Battle of Gettysburg, Elizabeth Thorn, at 6 months pregnant, dug holes to bury 105 soldiers in her cemetery. Take a getaway to Gettysburg this year and visit the monument of Elizabeth at The National Civil War Women's Memorial in Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pa.
