Monday Update from AFA + Local Farmstand Finds!

We’re starting the week with some BIG numbers and lots happening in the farmstand world!

The map is officially updated with all current submissions, and we are now at 949 FARMSTANDS across the country! We are so incredibly close to 1,000!

And we’re officially in the final countdown to American Farmstand Day! One week to go until Sunday, August 30!

This morning I picked up the final proclamation for this year’s celebration from our own town mayor. Since American Farmstand Day began right here in Tennessee, I focused our inaugural year on gaining support and recognition from our local and state Tennessee leaders. Next year, I’m taking that mission beyond Tennessee and will be reaching out to leaders in all 50 states!

Yesterday we wrapped up a fantastic Rutherford County Farmstand Crawl. Keep an eye out because I have plenty of videos coming from our stops!

And the farmstand crawl calendar is getting BUSY:

This Sunday: Lewis County, TN
September: Colorado Springs, CO • Dickson County, TN • Leipers Fork, TN
October: FIVE more crawls currently in the works!

What started with a simple idea to help people find farmstands has grown into 949 stands, trails, crawls, a national farmstand day, and communities all over the country discovering the farmers, bakers, growers and makers right in their own backyard.

Thank you for every follow, share, map submission, event registration, road trip and bit of encouragement along the way. You’re helping us build this community one farmstand at a time.

Here’s to a BIG week ahead and maybe, just maybe, seeing that map hit 1,000 soon!

**New menu alert!** We will be serving up some delicious muffins tomorrow from 6am to 5pm. All muffins are 2 for $7.

Our bakery has been unfortunately closed most of this past week due to summer inservice. We will resume our weekly schedule starting Monday from 6am-5pm. The menu will be posted this Sunday.
