The Dessertist THE DESSERTIST Samantha Benjamin comes from a large family filled with incredible bakers and chefs. But who needs toast when you can have dessert!

She was fortunate enough to get the baking genes from her mother, but in return she can barely make toast. Sam is an artist turned baker and has become a self claimed dessertist. She uses her creativity to develope intriguing, unique desserts in a variety of shapes, colors, and flavors. She strives to achieve the impossible and create new flavors that will send anyones tastebuds for a loop. No dessert dreams is too big and she is ready to conquor the masses! Foot Update! Things are good. REALLY GOOD. Still can’t walk on it, but I can move around carefully and get out of the house.

I don’t know why I was so taken aback by the comments and DM’s “diagnosing” me, or telling me to find a new Dr, or saying “you don’t need that much surgery”. But hey, in today’s society everyone knows everything, right 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m grateful for my surgeon and all the time, care and attention she’s put into me over the past 5 years. I’m excited to be healing better than expected. I’m so grateful for this cheeseburger I’m about to throw down, in a public place, with Matt and just talk about how lucky we are to have finally reached this point.

Change is never easy, but this one feels right.

I can’t believe I’m actually saying this…we sold the business.

I’m excited to share that is stepping in and taking over my cake pop empire (empire may be a bit of a strong word, but let’s go with it 😁). Their passion, values, and vision align deeply with what this business stands for, and I cannot think of anyone better to continue bringing you cake pops on a wholesale level.

I am so grateful for this journey and excited for what’s next—for them and for me.

Though the pops will remain the same, you’ll see them donning some brand new packaging. To all my wonderful customers, please continue to support. To everyone else, please remember to support small businesses!

I’m officially closing this chapter in my life and may be stepping out of the kitchen, but I will forever remain a chef and The Dessertist. Those are titles I’ll never give up. 😁

More to come of what’s next for me, but for now, CONGRATULATIONS to Alexa and The Poppery on your acquisition of the business. I’m so excited to watch you grow!

Wondering where I’ve been….right here, with these two. Mom’ing, running a business (a successful one at that), keeping my house together, dove into the deep end of the Booster Club and school athletics (and freaking love it), family dinners, softball games (for both), seeing friends, seeing family, family time- basically not trying so hard to be everything I thought I needed to be, but instead being everything I want to be. It’s been a real wake up. Encourage all to try it. I’ll be back, just on my own terms.
