Who wants to be first to hear my latest song, "Bring On The Eggs?" ;)

Bring On The Eggs is a seasonal defence song designed to counter the numpties who will inevitably crawl up through the floorboards to condemn you as a pagan if you dare celebrate the death and resurrection of our Lord (also known as the central doctrine of the entire Christian faith...). Keep an eye out, because I've also got two other songs, which will be published on Good Friday, and Easter Sunday! :D In order to boost potential viewership, I'll also be hyping them up to the best of my ability until then, so watch out for teasers ;)

The last Christmas song, "Christmas Time Is Here Again", has been published! What a journey it's been. Writing, producing, and expositing these songs seems to have actually changed my perspective on Christmas. Not quite enough to grow my heart three sizes, but enough that I probably won't need to be visited by 4 ghosts this year ;)

I have never believed Christmas is pagan, and as the song "Christmas Isn't Pagan" shows, I stand quite confidently on that hill. Yet, it is still sung from the perspective of someone who does not use that liberty. Christmas isn't really my thing, though for personal reasons more than intellectual.

Thanksgiving, on the other hand, is quite precious to me, and I do celebrate that. However, while I do not consider it my home, I was born, raised, and for the foreseeable future am trapped in the UK. Thus, I celebrate Thanksgiving alone. Part of that celebration manifested "Holy Baby Boy", which is perhaps my favorite of the seasonal songs I have written. The best part about it is its shifting nature. It's designed for Thanksgiving PRIMARILY, but also to bleed into Christmas. It can even be rendered timeless with the modification of a single line.

A common theme in these songs, of course, is Santa Claus, specifically noting how the world has hijacked him. However, his legend is based on a real man: a 4th century Christian bishop! So of course, to pad out the Christmas season, I just had to write one dedicated to him. Hence, "The Savior That Santa Claus Knew" was born!

I didn't write ALL of my Christmas songs this year. Following Holy Baby Boy, I decided to publish one I wrote last year, too. That being "The Announcement", poetically describing the annunciation of Christ's imminent arrival to Mary.

It's been quite exciting to write these songs, and it may even become an annual Bible Brain tradition to write more :D For now, if you'd like to, please do check out the songs, and maybe share them with your loved ones. They can all be found on Bible Brain.
