About a week ago, I went and picked up our new boer bucking! The end goal with this guy is to breed him with my milkers and meat up our dairy kids! Hopefully, we can produce enough goat so we can write off beef completely!

We do eat our dairy goats, but they aren't as big or meaty as the boer goat breed. We raise all of our meat here, pastured pork, pastured chickens, pastured duck, and goats. We currently buy beef from a family member which we plan on replacing with more meat goats.

I am so excited to have him here with us! Who knows... boer does may be in our near future too!

Alright guys! I am on the last leg of this pregnancy and I think it is about time to make some slight changes.

I have an incredible amount of work to do the next couple months. Processing animals and vegetables, winter prep, homing in on homeschooling work for my kids, getting ready for baby, just to name a few.

To condense my workload, I'd like to implement a schedule for the scones, muffins and cookies. This will help me streamline my processes and ensure everything remains as fresh baked as possible.

Honestly, sourdough is the main event at The Hay Wagon. The workload of the bread for the shelf and bakery freezer is a huge undertaking. In order to keep up with the high demand of The Hay Wagon Sourdough and my crazy life, I'd like to have the "extras" designated to a specific day where I can focus on the bread and just one other type of product instead of scrambling to try and make them all. Along with the bread, I always plan to make extra for the bakery freezer, so you should be able to find fresh baked frozen scones, cookies and muffins throughout the week as well.

Here is an example of the schedule:

Thursday - Sourdough & Cookies
Friday - Sourdough & Scones
Saturday - Sourdough & Muffins

This is just a trial run, so we will see how it goes!

Thank you to everyone who made a special trip to visit Emma and buy a bracelet! She takes her little business very seriously. I am so incredibly proud of my girl and she cannot wait for the next time she can set up!
