Another great Sergeant Major get-together. A few were missing but new people came in their place. Shared donuts, pizza, and good memories.

It was an absolutely wonderful day as we gathered together for our annual get-together at the Summersville Armory. It is always like going home when we reunite with friends from our past. The military is our life.

Another great get-together with friends. It was our ninth year with pizzas, cookies, and great fellowship. They share a lot of history, and Oh the stories they can tell. I love watching them reminisce about their many years in the military. They have served us well. Ramona

At the Veterans Day ceremony in Summersville, WV yesterday every veteran was presented with a Thank You poster from a student at Summersville Elementary. I was so pleased that students still take part in Veterans Day activities. Roger’s posters were from Oliver and Marley. So we are sending a big thank you to these two students. Your thoughtfulness and kind words mean a lot to us and to veterans everywhere. Ramona.

Veterans Day ceremony at Memorial Park in Summersville. There was quite a crowd in spite of the heavy rain. It was held inside with masks and social distancing but even with changes, for a little while life seemed normal. There is tremendous pride and a strong bond among veterans and military families. It is always like going home. I saw old friends and former students. I had a great time visiting with Sue Burkholder. Faith Lipscomb is a former student at Birch River. She is the bell ringer in the pictures. She is headed for a career in the Air Guard. She wants to be a pilot. My oh my. I was so proud. I would like to wish a Happy Veterans Day to two of my favorite veterans for their service to our country. Roger Beverage and Carl Beverage. And I would like to thank ALL veterans everywhere for answering the call to protect and preserve our freedom! We are in your debt! Ramona.
