Sweet Southern Spirit - Cowan Bakery was formerly known as The French Confection until purchased by the Sweet Southern Spirit franchise. Our 5000 square foot, FDA certified bakery is located in Cowan, TN and offers wholesale baked goods. We currently service major hotels, restaurants, catering companies, and governmental agencies. We are a woman owned business and have been serving Tennessee for over 15 years!

We have started getting a lot of local calls about cakes and other goodies. We are a commercial wholesale bakery but would be happy to fill local orders. We serve the best restaurants and venues in the south.

For local orders, we need a 7-10 day lead time. We do our desserts from scratch and they are very delicious and moist. Unlike a home cottage bakery, we have employees, insurance and an FDA approval for our 5000 sq ft facility.
Our prices vary based on your request.

For basic items, here are our prices
2 layer cake $99
3 layer cake $129
Cupcakes $40 per dozen
Whoopie pies $50 per dozen
Shooter desserts $65 per dozen

This is A pre-Covid memory that popped up this morning.

I had a great memory today pop up.

About 12 years ago, we did the Wedding Cake, whoopie pies and desserts for the President of Mexico’s daughter. She got married with a reception in Nashville. They requested Tres Leches cakes. I panicked. We had never done them before. We researched and actually combined 3 different recipes to make our own version. When we delivered these cakes and desserts we were scared to death. The family asked “What Mexican Bakery did these cakes? They are the best cakes we have ever had”.
So I am bragging. Sorry. But our bakery has the best desserts. Nothing is dry. We are proud of our recipes and the baking techniques we have worked on for over 20 years that are proprietary to our specific bakery.

We are a wholesale bakery, but we take special orders. We need a minimum of a 10 days notice.

We also made Jack Daniel Chocolate Chocolate Chip cakes for President Trump and Elon Musk. At the time we made them for the Venue, we didn’t know who the cakes were for. We later found out they were for a Conference of VIP’s. We were told that Trump asked the Convention Center Manager to tell the Chef that this was the best cake he ever ate. So, I know we are bragging but it’s so cool and we are so proud. The team at Sweet Southern Spirit Bakery are fantastic!

Thank you to all our customers that have made 2024 a success. We are a small, certified Woman Owned business that relies on people, like you, who want to see small businesses succeed. We are a wholesale bakery supplying the best venues with amazing desserts, but we also cater to you. We do require a 10 day lead time for retail orders. Keep our staff busy in 2025!
