Good bread takes time. Milling our grains in house, a hands-on process that lets us bring out the best flavor in every loaf, batter and dough.

While construction has come with a few growing pains, it’s all in service of what’s next. More room to create, more opportunities to expand our baking program, and more fresh milled goodness coming out of the oven each day.

Thanks for sticking with us through the dust—we think the future is looking pretty delicious.

Construction won’t last forever, and we can’t wait to get things fully back up and running around here. Thanks for sticking with us, good (and delicious) things are en route.

A note from the LRHB Team, “We’re expanding the bakery- business operations will continue as normal thanks to the continued support of visitors and of course our locals. We are in the process of a large expansion, with adding our flour mill and limited indoor seating, as well as a much needed storefront. There will also be a beautiful new deck that patrons of both the bakery and The Oystercatcher will be able to enjoy and have those experiences you expect from 901 Grace street.

We are so happy to be in a position to take on this project. It’ll be awkward, but business will be operating as normal. Thank you for sticking with us through this transition, and we’re so excited to give you something back. Come on to see the plans and our construction timeline, and feel free to inquire about our progress. We’re excited to share it with you.”

A quick pause at LRHB while we work behind the scenes. The bakery will be closed until tomorrow, 3.12. Your lazy day ritual is still within reach, we’ll be back just in time to see you this weekend stocked with all your favorites at our temporary storefront.

In the meantime, we’re loving the Winter on Whidbey Lunch Special at our friends, : an after school classic, The Seabiscuit. Think prosciutto di parma and sliced gruyere with a generous layer of butter on the perfect canvas (if we do say so ourself), a LRHB baguette. Paired with a glass of crisp white it’s simple, cozy, and exactly what this time of year calls for.
