Hello everyone. I am reminiscing today....

I opened my recipe book for the first time in a long time, and this is the first thing that I see. This is the loaf that "started it all". I started in 2020, delivering these loaves and more to my loyal customers' doorsteps. All of my recipes only really make sense to me. They are all half written. So, if you can figure out how to bake this loaf, this recipe is for you.

I love what I do now, but I think about Messy Bessie's and our time together every single day. I don't miss it enough to open another restaurant right now, but I might start baking a little here and there again. No, I am not taking orders. I need to bake for my family before I start baking for others again.

I hope you all are well, and selfishly, I hope you miss Messy Bessie's as much as I do.

Congrats to the Muncys on a successful grand opening of 56 Donuts! This is located across from the elementary school playground. Now y'all can quit asking me to make donuts 🤣🤣 Can't wait to try some next time!

As we clean up from a two day catering event with Sankey's 6N Ranch, I have to show my gratitude to this man. My husband, Tim, works 70 hours a week most weeks and he still gives what he has left to help me keep on caterings and special orders (and my sanity, the laundry, ect). If you haven't had his pineapple Pico you are really missing out! He can dice with the best of them. Thank you for all of your help, Mr. Messy!

I also should mention my 13 (almost 14!) year old. He comes in weekly to help me with the pretzels and this week he stepped up to the plate and took on way more than just pretzels. Thank you, Ty!

To the Sankey family: Thank you for having us out once again. I bet it's so gratifying to see all your hard work come together for such a great event. We look forward to working with you again in the future.

Just wanted to say good morning and that I miss you all! I love my new job as a Para, but that doesn't mean I don't wish I could still be serving you all up a hot and delicious breakfast every day, too!

Photo: The road we moved to is filled with my favorite flowers, "ditch sunflowers". Every morning on my way to work we get to drive past ditches full of them. It might be the best thing to come from these last few trying months. They are helping me find the sunny side again.
