With our grand opening less then 2 months away we are excited to present our 24th edition which is our most humbling and rewarding display yet . We have chosen to celebrate our nations birthday by recognizing those who fought for our freedom. Our Veterans Walk features over 100 heros and we are recognizing the 21 veterans and 1 active military member ls along our 28 block pathway . Our park will be glowing with 500,000 red, white , and blue lighting along with a very special spot in the park recognizing the 21 heros who gave their lives for our freedom from our little community.
At our Ball Park addition we have two exciting additions as our child favorite drive thru tunnel will be a 100 by 20 foot American Flag featuring over a mile of glistening lights and our new cut outs as Space Jam will be taking over our Basketball courts .
What sets our display apart from other displays is our display is a true community display . While other displays have corporate sponsors and $100,000 budgets our display lives off of hand me downs and heart . At last count we currently have 72 volunteers working behind the scenes from 11 different communities, including 2 states , and the most amazing part 4 local schools and we’ve just begun. It’s a true testament the amazing things we can accomplish whenever everyone works together for the betterment of our region . We couldn’t be more thankful for each and everyone one of our amazing volunteers from all Southern Illinois who helps us make our little town glow every Christmas season .
So stay tuned as the celebration has just begun as we throw the last 250th Birthday Celebration in the Country celebrating the men and women who fought for our freedom along with Jesus’s Birthday .
