We always like to say that the pastries you enjoy every weekend were made possible by Anthony’s last paycheck.
And that’s the truth.
After being laid off, Chef Anthony looked at me and said, “Honey, this is my last paycheck. We’re probably going to be late on rent this month, but I’m betting it all. I’m going to try to start this business myself.”
We had no guarantees. No safety net. No promise we’d even make our money back.
We risked being behind on rent. We risked wondering where our next meal would come from. We risked wondering how we’d buy our daughter’s diapers.
To some people, that probably sounds reckless.
But from the day I met Anthony, I knew God had a plan for him. I couldn’t explain it, I just knew he was meant to be doing this. So we trusted Him, took the leap, and gave it everything we had.
Thanks to social media and this incredible community, that “last paycheck” is still what helps bring every weekend to life. Every croissant, every cinnamon roll, every tart you see started because one man was willing to risk everything to chase the dream God placed on his heart.
“Anthony’s last paycheck” has become a reminder in our family to never give up. Believe in yourself. Trust God’s timing, even when it doesn’t make sense. Sometimes the biggest blessings begin with the biggest leap of faith.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping turn one last paycheck into something far bigger than we ever imagined. ❤️
