COOS BAY IRON WORKS… but make it a COOKIE. ❤️

Starting this little adventure with a piece of Coos Bay history. The Coos Bay Iron Works building is one of those unmistakable South Coast landmarks… so naturally, I had to turn it into a cookie. 😉

Did you know that Coos Bay Iron Works was one of only two buildings to survive the 1922 fire that swept through the waterfront in Coos Bay? I had a chance to chat with Heidi Sause, the owner of Coos Bay Iron Works, and this is the historical tidbit she chose as her favorite. Thank you, Heidi! ❤️

Here’s a little sneak peek at something fun I think I’ll start tomorrow! 👀

Coos County, one cookie at a time. 🍪📍

For the next little while, I’m turning some of my favorite places around Coos County into cookies!

Some historic buildings and landmarks, hidden gems, and places that just feel like home. I’ll be recreating them in royal icing and then taking each cookie back to the place that inspired it for a photo…📸 Because while decorating cookies for this community for the last 8 years, I’ve realized something… I really, really love this little corner of the Oregon Coast! So consider this my edible love letter to Coos County, one cookie at a time. 💕

And since tomorrow also happens to kick off voting for the 2026 Toast of the South Coast, I’d be extra grateful if you’d show The Cookie Barn a little love, too. 🥹🍪
