š± So, What Exactly Is a Farmers Market? š±
Wellā¦ technically, there are a variety of different kinds! Just because āFarmers Marketā is in the name doesnāt necessarily mean there are farmers selling their own produce at every market.
But for us, one of the most special parts of all the adventures and markets weāve been privileged enough to be a part of is the people we meet along the way. ā¤ļø
Weāve been lucky enough to meet local farmers, bakers, makers, and small business owners who are excited to barter, trade, share, and support one another. And honestly, that is one of my favorite things about being part of this community.
One thing Iām especially excited to share is that Iām currently practicing a Sweet Potato Sourdough Cinnamon Roll! š š¤
And thereās a little story behind itā¦
Iām lucky enough to get sweet potatoes from a local farmer, and it got me thinking about how much I love incorporating ingredients from the people around us into what we make.
Whenever something isnāt available from my own garden, we always try to source it from another local vendor or farmer whenever we can. š±
So when you stop by our booth, just know that when you see fresh ingredients going into our breads, sweets, and other goodies, thereās usually a little story behind them.
Sometimes they come from my garden.
Sometimes they come from another local farmer.
And sometimes they come from another small business weāve had the privilege of meeting along the way.
Thatās what a farmers market means to us.
Itās more than just a place to sell bread.
Itās community.
Itās connection.
Itās bartering and sharing.
Itās supporting one another.
And itās knowing that the food youāre bringing home was made with ingredients that have a story behind them. ā¤ļø
And if I can turn a locally grown sweet potato into a delicious sourdough cinnamon roll along the wayā¦
Well, Iād say thatās a pretty sweet deal. š š„ā¤ļø
