Let’s talk about something most people don’t realize about custom cakes…
Every little detail you see on this cake was handmade - from the books to the caterpillar to the tree. Those pieces alone took hours to sculpt before the cake was even decorated. Because of that, most custom cakes are designed to be viewed from the front and the visible sides. That’s how they’re displayed at almost every party - on a dessert table against a wall or backdrop where guests mainly see one side. Decorating the back of a cake with the same level of detail means additional hours of work and, naturally, a higher price.
If your cake will be displayed in the center of the room where guests will see it from every angle, just let your baker know during the design process. We’d much rather plan for a full 360-degree design than have anyone disappointed on pickup day.
