Did you know?
HomeSliced was formed in 2019 to be a business of passion and love for serving. Not just serving cakes and treats but serving the community. My 18-year career in nonprofit organizations stirred on my desire to open the bakery with a goal of giving back. After leaving social work and community organizing full time I continue serving as a volunteer and on the board of directors of several nonprofits.

By staying engaged and active in the local community I’ve stayed aware of places I can be an unexpected blessing of sweet treats or financial support.

I just finished my taxes last month and was humbled to see that last year HomeSliced donated over $7,000 in goods/services and gave $4,000 in financial support to local nonprofits, schools, ministries, and individuals/families.

The home of HomeSliced is New Life Authentic Christian Community - Conover. Their deep passion for loving the community with the unrequited and unearned love of Jesus is what allowed me to start using their facility in 2022. My ability to be generous in the ways God has tugged on my heart is only possible because of their generosity toward me in allowing me to use such an amazing and well-equipped facility. Through my classes and camps I’ve welcomed countless people into the church.

This is why I do what I do: to randomly and unexpectedly bless others!

Cakes have been donated for fundraisers, kids given scholarships to classes and to camps, treats been brought to the staff or volunteers of nonprofits, cakes been made for graduation celebrations, celebrations of life and even just to celebrate mothers at our local shelter. I’ve also had many opportunities to gift custom cakes randomly to those picking up a cake they expected to pay for. Shave kits, soap, cleaning kits, coats, and more have been purchased for our local homeless ministry, funds donated for local festivals to have kids entertainment sections, cookies were given to an entire city’s public works employees, and food donated to local police working a holiday. What joy each of these activities brought to hearts in our community.

These are cupcakes being brought to teachers at Newton Conover Middle School, one of 5 deliveries I’ve made this school year to celebrate their teachers accomplishments and life seasons. I’m so proud to be a small slice of their celebrating.

Your orders help make it possible for me to continue this work of blessing! There isn’t much to report for “profit” in my business if you’re looking at money but there is when you’re looking at impact ❤️

Is there someone you’d randomly like to bless? Maybe a group of people who serve and wouldn’t expect it?

My Whisk Takers classes had a blast cooking a full dish today!

Students practiced their cutting skills with a rainbow of fresh vegetables while learning the difference between sauté, roasting, and baking. Nice tender pan cooked chicken over brown rice, roasted chickpeas, and roasted vegetables.

Gaining confidence in meal planning, prepping, and ex*****on is the goal and these students are rocking it!

Ever wonder how to make your own pasta noodles? It may not be as tricky as you think and nothing beats some fresh-made pasta!

Come learn how to make an egg-based noodle recipe that can be turned into any shape. Participants will take their noodles home to dry and enjoy later. Egg-based pasta recipes dry well but do need to be stored in fridge and consumed within 3 days. This class will utilize wheat flour and eggs and cannot be substituted. All equipment and supplies are provided.

This class is geared toward teens and adults who are able to watch a demonstration and then work independently with minimal assistance. If participant needs more one-on-one assistance an adult will need to stay to get the full benefit of the class.

Only two days before our first Cake Decorating class of the year, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Class is 6:30pm on Tuesday February 10th at New Life Community Center in Conover.

You can come with a friend, alone, as a couple, father-daughter, any way you come will be a fun night of learning new skills and leaving with an adorable 6” 2-layer heart shaped cake. 🥰

I appreciate all your patience as I've recovered from surgery and gotten started with homeschool classes for the semester 🙂

I hope to see many of you in the upcoming classes, the soonest being a cake decorating class on February 10th! This fun class will show you how to make a heart-shaped cake and decorate with several different techniques.

I'm excited about a set of Pasta-Making classes on February 26th. The daytime Pasta-Making class is designed for my homeschool families and the evening Pasta-Making class is geared for adults/couples/families. Both classes will be a fun opportunity to come together and learn some new skills!

March holds sugar cookie making & decorating, pizza-making from scratch, cinnamon roll making, and even an extended class for the March 13th teacher workday.

Please checkout the website for details on each of these classes and don't wait to register as I like to keep classes small.

Summer camps usually sell out and work off of a waitlist after they're full. We have a BLAST at camp and I hope to see many returning faces and new friends. Don't forget about the multi-camp discount that works when you register more than one child for the same week of camp as well as multiple weeks of camp for the same child. It should automatically apply when 2+ camps are in your cart.
