Hiatus/Hibernation
As you know, we have spent the last month taking a break from the stresses and challenges of running a small business. During this time off we’ve had much time to reflect on on the journey we’ve had since we started this journey in 2014. The time off has allowed us the very first weekends off in over four years to spend time with friends and family.
Our first three years, we were behind the scenes working with an incredibly talented pastry chef Brian Wildroutd in creating recipes, trying to find the right location and figuring out financing.
We opened our doors in September 2017. The last four years have - like all other small businesses had daily and ongoing lessons in successes and failures. Each of which nourished our souls and challenged our resilience. Small business owners know the multiple hats they have to wear. Mine included always working full-time in healthcare as well spending time with my family.
Covid has completely changed all of our lives. From many of us it has forced us to look at what quality of life means to us. For myself, I’ve decided it’s time for me to find more balance in my life and focus on less work and more quality of life balance.
For Tupelo, we are determining what the future holds. We have a few dedicated persons who are looking to take over and continue the Tupelo journey. We’re so proud of what our team has created and the product and the relationships we’ve been fortunate to share.
We have some opportunities for a new direction, but we cannot share until the end of the year. We are also possibly looking for potential team members who want to be part of the ownership and continue the journey. Please DM me if you are interested in finding out more.
In the meantime we are so grateful for every relationship and every person that has supported Tupelo. After this hiatus/hibernation we will let you know any future directions as soon as we know.
May your days be full of joy and life balance and gratitude from us for your support thus far
