We close the door on another month today and what a momentous occasion it is! Why? Well, on Tuesday, we will celebrate SIX YEARS of being open as a brick-and-mortar business. We began as a bakery, added lunch, then breakfast, and then a full coffee/espresso experience.
This growth wouldn't have happened with you all of you! And we'd like to see many more years, but that also can't happen without you. It is a difficult time to be in the retail business as well as the food business. Everything costs more - and we know things cost more for you, too!
Business is slower for B's and for many of our small business friends. We know every dollar counts - for you and for us. So, please, whenever possible - shop small, come see us, and allow us to keep doing what we've been doing!
We appreciate you so much and look forward to baking, cooking and pouring coffee for you, your friends, your family and more for years to come.

Fun Guatemala note: we will be hosting a group of seven in Antigua Guatemala this week, starting Wednesday. This is part of the part-vacation, part-education, part-experiential tours we lead multiple times a year. Follow along on our social media!
June Bakery Menu Launches
The June pastry menu has arrived, and with it comes some new and returning flavors! Once again, we are taking our previous cake-by-the-slice flavor (Chocolate with Cherry) and turned it into a cupcake! It joins a longtime favorite - Churro - as the other cupcake for the month.
We are bringing back a classic summer pop tart - Peach - along with a newer addition to the menu, Raspberry Frangipane (pictured above). If you're not familiar with frangipane, it's the creamy almond filling that typically goes inside almond croissants! For this pop tart, we fill the inside with both frangipane and raspberry jam, and then top it with a raspberry glaze after baking.
Meanwhile, we are going to try keeping banana bread mini loaves in the case and ALSO bring in a bright, citrusy Mini Lemon Loaf!
And don't forget the Oatmeal Carmelita, which launched a few days early (pictured below). An oat-and-brown-sugar crust, dark chocolate, pecans and caramel on top. Yum!
Remember: anything on the June bakery menu can be ordered ahead - either in-person or online - until 1 pm the day before. After that, everything (except cookies) is walk-in only!
Egg Salad Sandwiches Are Back!
It's summer time, and we know many of you have egg salad on the mind (because you keep asking when it'll be back!). Our egg salad sandwich is back, featuring our housemade egg salad (including plenty of fresh dill), pickled red onions, green leaf lettuce, and your choice of B's mayos. The default version is served on our country sourdough, but you can also get this as a wrap, or on housemade gluten-free bread (+$2).
As all of our sandwiches do, it comes with one of our housemade sides - and broccoli salad is another seasonal feature! The full listing of all current sides is on the little chalkboard by the register, and also on the online ordering buttons.
While we nearly always ensure all menu items are vegan or have a vegan complement, the egg salad sandwich is the exception. While fully vegetarian, this sandwich does contain real eggs and is not available in a plant-based version.
4th of July Hours
For those who like to plan ahead, we wanted to make sure you knew our 4th of July plans:
We will be closed Friday, July 3 through Monday, July 6. Re-opening on Tuesday, July 7.
Ordering Policy Reminders
We are so happy to continue having new people find us! So this seems like a good time to share some of our most frequently used policies:
PHONE ORDERS - We don't accept them. It's led to miscommunications in the past, when one side didn't hear the other correctly and the wrong item(s) were made or ordered. We are happy to answer questions, if you're curious about anything, but we don't put through breakfast, lunch, pastry, coffee or special orders.
You can order on our website, or you can order in-person. Need more detailed, specialized help? Send us an email and we can build an invoice or proposal for you! You can also text us and we can either write back to you in more detail or call you at a time when the counter isn't busy!
HOLDS - Same as the above, basically. We don't hold or set items aside. We used to, then people wouldn't show up. We'd close and then have wasted, unsold food.
You can order any and all current bakery offerings up to 1 pm the day before, whether online or in person. Meals can be ordered same-day, but online orders do close 45 minutes before the end of each meal service. If it says "sold out" online for the current day, but it's still during our meal service window, that means we've moved to in-person only.
MODIFICATIONS - Whether it's related to the above, or something you are trying to change or adjust in person: please know that if our staff say that we aren't able to do something, it's because we've told them to. Especially in regards to meal service, we have a tight area on the stove and we can only introduce so many variables. If you don't see the option on an ordering button, or our staff don't, then it's not something we are able to do on the fly.
This also applies to requesting changes to items in the comment section during checkout online. If the option isn't there, it's probably not something we can do.
However....we are always open to ideas and suggestions! Is there a modification or menu adjustment you'd like to see? Feel free to tell our staff (who will pass that on to us) or send us a message. We've made many changes before based on customer feedback! It's just usually not possible in-the-moment.

Antigua Guatemala has year-round highs in the upper 70s, and lows in the 50's. Little humidity, and January - in particular - is the height of the dry season. Sunny days and cool nights....it's a wonderful combination!

All rooms are in the garden area of the hotel, facing the lush grounds and/or the swimming pool.
