I finally chose me!! This photo was taken on a boat ride that changed my life. I was surrounded by beauty, but inside I was carrying years of pain — the kind that comes from always putting everyone else first.
I lived my whole life in the back seat of my own story.
Always making myself smaller so others could feel bigger.
Always saying “yes” when I meant “no.”
Always giving pieces of myself until there was nothing left.
That day on the water, something shifted.
I realized I had been waiting for permission to live my own life. Permission that was never coming.
So I gave it to myself.
I moved to a country where nobody knew the “old me” — the people-pleaser, the over-giver, the man who disappeared into everyone else’s needs.
Here in Brazil, I’m learning what it feels like to choose myself every single day.
To take up space unapologetically.
To say “no” without explaining why.
To put my peace before other people’s comfort.
And honestly? It feels revolutionary.
