The Bagel Store Our bagels are almost as good as our memes, now with more Lord of The Rings content. So here we are.

The Bagel Store was co-created by owners Chris DeSaye and Sean Polito, who both grew up in the town of Colts Neck. We had both worked at the location under one of the previous owners on and off from the years 2006-2010, learning the craft and art form behind making bagels. Over the past 5 years, we had countless conversations about what we would do if we ever owned the bagel shop, dreaming that so

meday maybe we would. In August, we received a call that the current owner was selling the business and moving on, and we jumped at the opportunity to bring our recipe back to our hometown. It took 3 months to renovate the storefront, and we meticulously planned and revamped every small detail. Every day throughout the renovation process, we would see people coming up to the door hoping for a bagel, only to be let down to find their local breakfast spot was closed temporarily. It broke our hearts knowing we had to turn down so many hopeful bagel-eaters, but we knew that the wait would be worth it. Bringing you delicious hand-rolled bagels that rival any you have ever had.

Dear friends and neighbors,

We want to address recent concerns about our shop's pricing.

As a small, independent shop, we pour our hearts into crafting these culinary marvels bagels for our community. Amidst the insanity of the pandemic and continually increasing chaos on this planet, we've faced challenges affecting our pricing.

Rising food costs have put immense financial pressure on us, as it has just about any other small food spot in the country. Despite our efforts to keep prices affordable, adjustments have become necessary.

For instance- the cost of Philadelphia cream cheese has surged from $70 to $190 for a 50lb container.

Our pricing formula, unchanged since day one reflects the current economic realities that is putting little places like ours out of business on a daily basis.

We understand wait times can be frustrating. Our small team is working hard to serve you quickly, but there are limits. We appreciate the patience of our loyal locals and regulars who continue to support us.

As a small local shop, we're actively seeking solutions.

Your feedback is valuable as we navigate these challenges and find cost-saving measures while preserving quality.

The 1-star reviews on Google and “Do Not Recommend” posts on FB hurt, not going to lie. But we are not dishonest, and we still put the same effort in every day since owning the place.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Your unwavering support means the world to us. We remain dedicated to serving you the best bagels in town.

‘tis a sorrowful early start to the week in the land of Gluten Ring, my fellow townspeople.

Our beloved bagel baking beast hath fallen ill on this bitter morrow. It forces us to proclaim that our daily offerings must be postponed for today’s regularly scheduled hours of operation.

Translation: the f*cking 70yr old oven is broken and we can’t fix it until later today which means we will be open tomorrow. Sorry.
