Sourdough bread!!!!! I’m so excited to have gotten a jumpstart for my anemic starter from my daughter-in-love. It’s like my starter has had an IV infusion of B12 and Vitamin C! I have dough in its first rise in a warm oven. Super excited!

I was brokenhearted to find starter #1 knocked off the top of the fridge and filled with glass shards. #2 went bad within 3 weeks. I suspect I had not properly washed the grapes I used to feed it, introducing bacteria. #3 went bad due to neglect. #4 was thrown away by my husband in a recent fridge purge. (I am not mad. I was, but I now have the most beautifully healthy starter I’ve had since #1!!!!! Now to see if I remember how to do this!

Awesome!!!! I’ve been saying for a while that with the craftsmen aging out, we need young people to learn skills like clockmaking/repair, cobbler/shoe and boot repair, etc.
