Been taking a break from baking for a lot of reasons but I recently made chocolate whoopie pies (my first time!) and twix cookies. Both were a HUGE success!

There's a tradition that I started when Alex was born. He got two cakes because he was a preemie so we had one on his birthday and then one on his due date. Fast forward to birthday party days and we have a cake on his bday and then at his bday party. So I had to do the same for my niece. Today she had a vanilla cream Oreo cake with Oreo buttercream and chocolate ganache. So good!

Family! I have family visiting and I haven't seen my niece since Alex was born (a little over 6 years ago). My niece's birthday was the other day so I decided to try something new. I made a vanilla cake with a Swiss meringue butter cream frosting and it was all lactose free! I used lactose free milk for the cake and then ghee in the frosting!!!! I let the birthday girl pick out the color and she picked blue :)

Palisade peach season! Easily the best peaches ever. I decided to try to make a peach pie this year and my first attempt was a success. Add a healthy serving of fresh whipped cream and you have dessert perfection!

A while back we decided to visit my sister in law in Hot Springs, Arkansas. What an amazing trip it was! I cannot wait to go back to see the green trees and go out on Lake Hamilton. But now, it's back to reality and I'm already thinking about the next pop up event! Get excited!

So I love crème brûlée. I love making it but always felt bad my lactose free friends/family couldn't partake. I recently got some vegan heavy whipping cream alternative from Trader Joes and decided to attempt to make the dessert and oh my biscuits it was delicious! I cannot wait to make some of this for my family in August!!!
