Whether college, highschool, kindergarten, or preschool, you have worked hard and made it through!

I'm extra proud of the recipients of these graduation apples; my "day job" is teaching preschool; and a wonderful parent gifted these to our class and kindergarten.

Today, I take a small break from sharing bakes to remind everyone that October is Domestic Violence awareness month.
Domestic violence impacts every single community with no regard for race, religion, economic status, or gender.

Raising awareness of domestic violence and providing support for survivors is an intensely personal subject because one year ago today, my husband of 18 years was removed from our home for assault. It's been a long and arduous battle for the last 12 months in the court system.

I want to encourage everyone single one of my followers to become an advocate.

The number one thing you can do, the single best help you can offer is to believe someone if they disclose abuse. Adult or child, friend, family member, acquaintance. Believe the victim when they disclose and reach out for help.

It's a hard conversation; but, one that must be had because darkness of domestic violence and child abuse thrives in secrecy and shadow. And if you've been impacted by DV, seek help, find support, there are ways out, EVERYONE deserves to be safe.
