It has taken me a long time to be able to write this note. It has been a very difficult time to say the least. In early May, I, with my husband's help, made the heart breaking decision to close the bakery. My feelings about the bakery are still very raw, but it was the right decision to make. I appreciated everyone's support. In time, I will close out the accounts as I have the emotional energy to do so. I wish I had an explanation for you but sometimes personal reasons need to remain personal. Please don't send messages here, I likely will not see them or respond to them. Thank you all for believing in the bakery.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the bakery and the farmers market this weekend. It was a beautiful day and lots of shoppers. Our next event will be Memorial Day weekend for opening day of the backyard market season. Come see us!

I have some bad news regarding the vegan strawberry shortcake cookies. They are not turning out well. I will make samples and package what I've already made but I'm not overly optimistic. I still hope to see you tomorrow 10-3 at Edith Wolford Elementary School.

It's a bee-utiful day here in Monument. Tomorrow is looking even better. Stop at the Spring Market by Backyard Market in Black Forest and get some yummy snacks before you hit the trail.

The Spring Backyard Market in Black Forest is coming quickly. It's this Saturday! If there's something you're hoping for, it's best you preorder in order to obtain it. I bring only a certain amount of everything and sell out quickly. Please preorder if you wish to get a whole cake or loaf, or if you want a dozen or more cookies.

We are officially attending the Backyard Market in Black Forest at Edith Wolford Elementary School this Saturday from 10am-3pm.

The line up includes lemon raspberry coffee cake, strawberry shortcake cookies, and lemon poppyseed bread in various dietary forms. Items that may show up if time allows is peanut butter cookies or PB alternative cookies, chocolate chip cookies, banana bread, or blackberries and cream coffee cake.

Preorders are welcome. If you'd like an entire cake, a few dozen cookies or whole loaf of bread, please place a preorder by messaging me via text at (703) 309-6821 , by email at [email protected], by FB messenger, or by Instagram message.

To all of Alternative Whisk's friends, family, followers, customers, market goers, and supporters - the bakery is at a critical point and is in need of support. We are now 1.5 years old with almost no following and we need your help. This doesn't mean you must purchase an item to be supportive. We ask you to help spread the word of our bakery by sharing all our posts on FB, IG, and Nextdoor; and sharing to your gluten free, vegan, nut free or other allergen FB and IG pages. Or even better, comment about how much you enjoy our items and what makes them special. You can also carry cards with you and hand them out to people you know, hand out fliers and post them at your local favorite places (coffee shops, watering holes, restaurants, other small businesses). We are in need of support and if you wish to purchase, 10% discount for anyone who tags us in a post to inform everyone about us.
