Every August, my husband and I volunteer with Joni & Friends in Missouri to help facilitate a camp for families who have a child affected by a disability. This will be our fourth year volunteering! This year, our family needs to raise a total of $1,350 in order to go. If you donate $25 to our fundraising page this week, https://secured.joniandfriends.org/fundraiser/6252836 I will deliver 6 of these beautiful homemade Easter cookies to your door (2 oversized eggs, 2 bunnies, and 2 carrots). My husband and I worked together last year to shoot and edit this video so that you all could see how much joy camp brings to these kids and their families. In addition to video, my husband and I also lead the crafts and accessible rock-climbing activities.
Many families who are affected by disability would never have the chance to experience a family vacation like this without Joni & Friends offering an inclusive, accessible environment where children and families can be themselves without fear of judgment or staring.
