We are so excited to be OPEN today! The temperatures are beautiful and peaceful, which means the bakery is staying cool, comfortable, and at the quality-controlled temperature we need to serve you the products you know and love.

We're hopeful we'll be open for most of the day tomorrow as well, but unfortunately the rest of the week is looking extremely hot. Unless something changes, we likely won't be able to open for walk-in traffic during those high temperatures. If you've been craving your favorites, today is a great day to stop by and see us!

On a personal note, I just want to say thank you.

Many of you know my heart and the passion behind this little family-owned bakery. You also know how difficult the past few months have been as we've continued waiting for our AC issues to be resolved. Through it all, your kindness, patience, understanding, and loyalty have meant more than I could ever put into words.

Every share, every comment, every prayer, every encouraging message, and every act of support has touched my heart. The extra little tips of kindness you've given during this season have been such a blessing and a reminder of how incredible our community truly is.

I want you to know that through all of this, I've remained committed to serving you, honoring every order, and trusting God every step of the way. While this season hasn't been easy, I know He is faithful, and I am incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.

Please know we are actively working toward a solution and doing everything we can to get back to normal operations.

We will remain closed Friday and Saturday due to ongoing AC issues and unsafe temperatures inside the bakery.

Trust me when I say no one is more disappointed than we are. We know many of our sweet customers were hoping to stop in this weekend, and we truly hate having to make this decision again.

As a small family-owned business, every day closed hurts — but the safety of our staff, customers, and the quality of what we serve has to come first. We are continuing to work hard toward a resolution and praying for better days ahead.

Thank you all for the love, patience, prayers, encouragement, and support you’ve continued to pour into our little bakery during this frustrating season. We appreciate you more than you know.

Sure, some may think 80° sounds much better than 94°, but unfortunately that temperature change doesn’t help much inside a hot bakery. Between the heat and humidity, “room temperature” inside the shop is still too high and conditions are becoming nearly unbearable again.

We tried our best yesterday and managed to make it until the afternoon, but sadly we will once again be closed today and tomorrow. We will play Friday and Saturday by ear and keep everyone updated.

As always, all custom orders will be honored and handled safely. We will contact customers directly to arrange pickup times.

If you need last-minute cupcakes or cookies, please send us a Facebook message, call, or text. If we’re able, I’ll gladly arrange a pickup for you.

We are feeling so blessed and so loved this morning. ❤️
The outpouring of support, shares, comments, and encouragement for our little family-owned bakery during this difficult week has meant more than we can put into words. While navigating a broken AC and feeling let down in ways we never expected, this community has truly shown up for us.

This morning, watching the march with flags pass in front of our building brought such a deep sense of peace and gratitude. God has a way of reminding us we are not alone. 🇺🇸❤️

With the cooler temperatures today, we are SO excited to finally be open to the public again while also taking care of our custom orders! To celebrate and thank y’all for the love and support, we want to offer a little something sweet back to you:

Due to continued unresolved AC issues, we will be CLOSED to the public today. While temperatures are cooler outside, the humidity still creates challenges inside the bakery.

To ensure all custom orders remain in a safe, temperature-controlled environment and receive the attention they deserve, our focus today will remain solely on those orders.

We are unfortunately unable to open again today due to the ongoing AC issues within the building. We have continued doing everything possible on our end to stay open and serve our customers, including starting very early this morning in hopes conditions would allow us to operate safely. Unfortunately, we began the day at 80° inside the bakery and simply could not make it work.

We know the repeated closures have been frustrating, and please know they have been just as difficult and discouraging for us. This ongoing situation is not from lack of effort or concern on our part, but rather delays in getting the building issue fully resolved. We are continuing to remain hopeful, prayerful, and committed to pushing forward through it all.

All preorders and custom orders will still be honored, handled with care, and kept properly temperature controlled. If you have any questions regarding your order this weekend, please feel free to call, text, or message us on Facebook.

With temperatures reaching into the 90’s this week, we unfortunately will need to remain CLOSED Tuesday and Wednesday due to the ongoing unresolved AC issues in our building.

This has been an incredibly difficult season for our small business, but we are continuing to push forward with faith, determination, and hope that a resolution is coming soon. We appreciate every single person who has continued to support, pray for, encourage, and stand beside us through it all. It truly means more than you know. ❤️

We are also very saddened that our sweet neighbors at Barking Beauties are having to relocate due to these same issues. We will miss them and their customers so much! We do plan to continue offering our homemade dog treats here at Sugar Street Bakery. 🐾

Please know:
• All custom orders will still be honored and kept safe in temperature-controlled conditions
• We are still accepting future orders
• If you are needing cupcakes Tuesday or Wednesday, please call, text, or message us and we will do our best to work something out for you
