Gluten Free at Last

......memories of Illinois Products Farmers' Market at the state fairgrounds.....Joe and I were there every Thursday afternoon! Loved that market!

Joe was undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, from which he didn't survive. This was short time from our 51st anniversary. We got to celebrate 50 years before he passed away.

This was 9 years ago - my hubby was my taster extraordinaire! He was only with us another few months - he passed away from the ravages of pancreatic cancer. He was my inspiration - he wasn't gluten free, and he was a foodie personified, so I always valued his opinions regarding my gluten free baked goods.

Here's Joe manning our spot at IL Products Farmers' Market. As he went through the Whipple surgery and chemo, he came along and provided moral support. I told him all he had to do was to sit there and look pretty. 🙂 We were celebrating July 4 and his clear scan following chemo and Whipple surgery. Senator Dick Durbin was there that day and they bought a cupcake for his granddaughter.

Good afternoon, my dear customers and friends.....just wanted you to know that I AM taking orders, even though my fickle website said otherwise. I seem to have a gremlin issue....a customer was trying to order a Chocolate Peanut Butter cake, and was having issues. So I went to the site on my computer and tried to find the item, listed under "Cakes", to no avail....I looked further, and there was an area that said 'not taking orders'....I don't recall seeing that before, but obviously the gremlins did. Long story short - I am taking orders, always have been. That's my TED talk for today!

It was great to see a customer from West St Louis County who discovered my pineapple upside down minis in 2018 when I opened the bakery, and he becamea regular customer. I advertised some extras from an order, and he responded. He's moved even further west, and doesn't come this way often - understandable considering today's gas prices. Anyway it was great to see him, and I'm happy he's getting his pineapple upside down cake fix!!

Well, looks like I have a self-inflicted technical difficulty. Be patient. The pineapple upside down minis will be back as soon as I figure out what I did....guess I need to spend a little more time at my computer.....bear with me. :)
Hello, customers/friends!! Sorry I haven't posted much recently. Just filling orders as they come in and have been lax about posting pictures. I'll try to do better. Pictures sell....

It's strawberry season! I LOVE making these cakes adorned with delicious strawberries! (There just might be a couple with raspberries, too!)
