I asked Elias what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. He proceeded to draw me a picture of the Death Star complete with trench and space craft flying through it. So this was my attempt to make his wish come true. Some things I love about it, others I feel critical of but he was thrilled and that’s all that matters in the end. I’m realizing when two artistic people give birth to artistic children, the bar for creative output concerning things like birthday cakes can be high. 😅

I believe this is pirate birthday #3 for this kid. You gotta love a good thing. Each year we take it to a new level. This year we added the Kraken and I absolutely love it! Benjamin 3D printed the Imperial and Black Pearl ships. And of course we needed the rice paper waves again.

This kid is one of a kind. His interests run deep. Whether it’s pirates, ancient Egypt, arcades, or presidents (there was a window when we were deciding if there was a way to put an Abe Lincoln figurine on the cake) Benjamin’s creativity sores. Loved getting to celebrate this boy with his buds before another school year begins.
