Bread for today: Mary of Bethany (St. Jh.12:1-8) for this third time we see Mary again in the presence of Jesus preforming an act of service which demonstrates her great faith in Jesus. Using an expensive perfume she wiped his feet and used her hair to dry them. The perfume shows the worth in her mind for Jesus, letting down her hair was something a woman did only in the presence of her husband. This shows her deep admiration for her Lord. But the main point in view was the coming death and resurrection of our Lord; Mary anointed him in preparation for it. Something even his disciples had missed even though he told them many times. We learn many valuable lessons from this woman; perhaps this event shows us just how mature her faith had become. She has been at his feet for learning, for comfort, and in this event at his feet to worship. What a Woman!

My cousin put a post on here about the f-bomb and using Gods name in vain...there's no need to ever use any nasty language at all and God is supposed to be lifted up in reference not lowered to the earth. People always say oh my G.. that is wrong we are still slamming His name I used to be guilty of it as well until I heard a pastor preach about it one Sunday ...We're only supposed to lift His name up in praise and worship and speak highly of HIM not lower His name as if is regular day language. ITS NOT and we should always caps His name just like we capitalize other people's name, cities, states, days of the week and so on...He is our God and He deserves nothing less than that He's not a little g he's a big G... I can't even imagine my life without God in it He has blessed us beyond measure and He loves each and every one of us more than we could possibly imagine I love my family dearly, but I can't even comprehend the love that God has for me and wants nothing but the best for our lives so let's praise Him when we speak about Him and not damn Him...He deserves to be glorified God loves us all so very much. He gave His 1 and only Son so that we could have a life with Him and I think that's pretty amazing... I have two sons and I couldn't imagine giving NOT one of them to the world to mock, torture, and hang on a cross for this wicked world but this just shows us how very much that He loves us and wants to spend eternity with us so please let's be careful what we say and how we say it...💜

From a Godly friend:

Local Christian Mamas, have a virtual seat with me for a second ❤️ Can I share my heart for a minute? Me with my messy hair, make up free face, and leaf covered porch (ahem: not so polished and perfect 😘).

There is A LOT swirling today and I want to encourage you to BREATH. Jesus is still on the throne and unless you allow it to do so, the public school system does not create the culture of your child’s life….. YOU DO.

Now, hear me: I am not on board AT ALL with my child being influenced by anything that bears the name “satanic” (no matter what they claim the goal to be). But hear me louder: the biggest influence in your child’s life is what happens IN YOUR HOME.

If your heart is troubled and you are alarmed at the “local viral news” - good! We should be bothered when evil attempts to influence our children. (See the comments if you don’t know what I’m talking about)

BUT ALSO! Take a minute to really examine the influences in your child’s life. What happens in your home MATTERS. How and what you pour into you children matters. How and what you ALLOW to be poured into your children matters.

There are many things we do not allow in our home or in the lives of our children. But those things feel small compared to what we DO pour in. Every single day, my husband and I are PRESENT with our children. (and y’all, Jeremy Burden 100% leads the way in this because as much as it might ruffle cultural feathers…. a fathers role in the home carries more weight than we can imagine)

We play, we talk, we eat family dinner together at the table (and TRUST: I know how hard that can be - but it’s worth it so we make it happen), and we 100% live our faith in Jesus out loud. Our kids hear us and watch us wrestle through hard things as we work out the Biblical and Godly approach to so many things in this world. They see us NOT doing/watching/ participating in so many culturally popular things because it does not line up with Scripture. They hear us apologize, ask for forgiveness and truly seek to run after Jesus and His Kingdom in all we do.

The influence of those things along with the absence of many other things is what influences and creates the culture of their life.

So am I happy with today’s news? NO

But am I scared for the influence on my own children? Also no.

My encouragement to you today is to evaluate the culture of your home. If someone were to take a snap shot of what is allowed in your home, what your children see and hear from you, and the culture created in their little lives: is it what you WANT influencing them?

We can all grow in this area and this is where the Christian parents have to rise up and level up. The call for discipleship starts in our HOME. When our kids are solid in their own walk with Christ - they become the influence in their circles outside of their home - not the other way around ❤️

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk 😂
