# # Welcome to The Feral Wife Farm 🌿
The Feral Wife Farm started small, but the dream behind it has grown into something so much bigger.
My end goal is to create the kind of old-fashioned homestead and community space where people can shop local, learn useful skills, spend time outside, gather with the people they love, and maybe slow life down a little bit.
I envision a small hobby farm and petting zoo filled with animals to love, enjoy and learn about, along with responsibly raising and breeding some of our own Nubian goats, rabbits and bantam poultry.
Our farm stand will be about much more than baked goods. I want it to be a place where you can stop by for fresh eggs and garden vegetables, homemade baked goods, sourdough pastas, bulk meal seasonings, dry-canned and pantry-stable meal mixes, homemade dish soap, fire starters, chopped firewood and whatever else this crazy homestead life inspires me to make or grow.
I also want it to be a place that gives back.
The Little Shire Free Food Pantry is part of that vision, along with a Take a Book, Leave a Book area for both children and adults.
Then there is **The Shire**. 🌳
Our property has beautiful wooded nature trails that wind through the trees and along the creek, with sandbars, wildlife, seasonal wildflowers and quiet little places to sit, read a book, have a conversation or simply enjoy being outside.
My vision is to continue opening this space for weddings, birthday parties, reunions, business gatherings, markets, small celebrations and other private rentals.
But I also want people to be able to use it in ways that aren't necessarily a "big event."
Maybe you're a photographer who wants to rent the property for family or senior pictures. Maybe you're a therapist who wants a peaceful outdoor setting for a session. Maybe you want a quiet place for a small group to gather. Or maybe you simply need somewhere beautiful and private to spend a little time away from the noise of everyday life.

One of my biggest dreams is creating a homestead-style learning program for children — and adults who want to learn right alongside them.
I want to bring back some of the basic life skills that aren't always taught anymore.
Cooking. Baking. Canning and food preservation. Gardening. Sewing and simple clothing repairs. Caring for farm animals. Basic home and vehicle maintenance. Banking. Budgeting. Understanding credit. Saving money. Learning how to avoid living paycheck to paycheck. Small Bible lessons. And all those everyday skills that help a child eventually become a capable, confident adult.
I'd love to eventually offer small classes, homeschool programs and support, tutoring, day camps, playgroups and special activity days.
Some days might be educational.
Some might involve gardening, baking or feeding animals.
Some might be art projects.
And some might simply be **"go get dirty, explore the woods, splash in the creek and be a kid" days.**
I'd also love to offer childcare or small daycare options as this dream grows.
I don't expect all of this to happen overnight.
This is the **end-game vision for The Feral Wife Farm** — something we're building a little at a time.
A working homestead.
A small farm.
A farm stand.
A place to learn.
A place to gather.
A place to celebrate.
A place to give back.
And a place where kids and adults alike can get outside, learn something useful, connect with their community and remember that sometimes the simplest things in life are the best ones.
