Another stop on the Shayne in the Carolinas Apple Tour 🍎

Barnwell’s Apple House is the kind of place that reminds you what Hendersonville Apple Country is really all about.

The Barnwell family has been doing this since 1959, when Odell and Gladys Barnwell opened their first little apple shed. What started with about 15 acres grew into more than 100 acres of orchards, and their c***r house has been pressing fresh apple c***r right here since 1977.

This stop is less about all the extras and more about the good stuff. Fresh apples, local produce, c***r and generations of a Henderson County family keeping an apple growing tradition alive.

And that might just be my favorite part of this whole tour. 🍎

Next stop on the Shayne in the Carolinas Apple Tour 🍎

Justus Orchard is one of those places where you can make an entire afternoon out of picking apples.

This fifth generation Hendersonville family orchard has U Pick apples, fresh picked fruit, their Apple House Bakery, c***r donuts, fried apple pies, c***r slushies and plenty of farm fun along the way.

It’s a little tucked away from the main road, which might be my favorite part. You really get that old fashioned Carolina apple orchard feeling out here.

Come for the apples. Leave with three more things than you planned. That seems to be the theme of this tour. 😂🍎

First stop on the Shayne in the Carolinas Apple Tour 🍎

We’re starting with a Hendersonville classic, Grandad’s Apples ‘N Such.

This family farm has become one of those places that just feels like apple season in Western North Carolina. Fresh apples, hot c***r donuts, apple c***r slushies, the big red barn and plenty of reasons to stay awhile.

And yes, I fully believe an apple tour counts as important local research. 😉

If you’re spending fall in Hendersonville, this one deserves a stop.
