🍁 Happy Canada Day from your butter tart lady! 🍁
As a Canadian living in Michigan, this day always brings a little extra homesickness, and a lot of gratitude.
One of the greatest joys of running Heart to Tart is sharing a taste of my home with all of you. Whether it's butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, flakies, or another homemade treat, every bake comes with a little piece of Canada and the traditions I grew up with.
These photos are just a few of the goodies that came out of my kitchen over the past month. While baking has taken a bit of a back seat lately as I continue building my doula practice and supporting growing families in our community, Heart to Tart remains close to my heart. Creating comfort through food and creating support through birth work may look different, but both come from the same place: caring for people. Both practices are heart work!
Thank you for continuing to support my small business, my dreams, and this Canadian girl far from home. Wishing all my fellow Canadians a wonderful Canada Day filled with good food, good company, and maybe even a butter tart or two.
