My daughter asked if I had lashes on today [when I spoke to her via FaceTime]. I said nope that’s the mascara. I love lash extensions but I just can’t seem to keep from picking at them and eventually pulling them(and my real lashes) out. Better than S*x mascara by Too Faced is the next best thing to actually having lash strips or extensions. #toofacedbetterthansex .

Seven years ago, when everyone was doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, I would never have thought I’d be so intimately familiar with ALS. Yes we were familiar with the abbreviation and some of us even became familiar with its association to Lou Gehrig, famed baseball player who brought notoriety to the disease. But now, my all too close familiarity and intimacy with this disease has taught me what Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) actually is.  ALS is a deadly motor-neuron disease that slowly robs people of every muscular function leading to death.
If that sounds grim, just imagine having to live with it. But all hope is not lost and where there is life there is hope, as my mom would say. The hope is while People with ALS (PALS) are praying for a cure; they can still live the best lives possible. Unfortunately, this is where it gets a little bumpy. So much of what PALS need for everyday living from supplements to mobility devices is not covered by insurance and is extremely expensive.  So with a humble heart and gracious spirit I ask for your prayers and any amount of donations you wish to share for my sister Cheryl “Nikki” Ward. We are hoping to raise enough for medical expenses, in home supports, a transport van, in home equipment, and to cover the cost of some of the very expensive supplements that slow progression of the disease.
