✨ A Story of Love, Community, and One Very Brave Young Man ✨
Today, I had the absolute honor of being a tiny part of something much bigger than all of us. I want to take a moment to share what love, compassion, and community truly look like because what happened for Caden deserves to be seen.
Caden is an 18-year-old warrior who has been fighting a rare cancer for years. When the treatments stopped working, his only wish was simple and beautiful:
🌊 put his feet in the sand
🌅 breathe the Florida salt air
❤️ spend time with the love of his life
🙏 and get baptized in the Gulf
His family made the emotional decision to send him to Florida so he could experience these moments. A single Facebook post asking for help finding a pastor turned into something nobody expected, a movement. An entire community showed up for a young man they had never met… and it was powerful.
Strangers offered prayers. Strangers offered boat rides, photos, ice cream, special experiences. Strangers offered their time, their talents, their resources…
All because compassion is contagious when it’s real.
Today was supposed to go one way, and Caden wasn’t feeling well enough for all of the plans, but even with things shifting, the love around him never changed. The celebration still happened. The prayers still poured in. The support was still overwhelming. He still felt seen. He still felt held.
And THAT is what matters.
💛 This post is about Caden; his bravery, his faith, his strength, and the way he continues to inspire every single one of us.
💛 This post is about community; about what happens when people lead with kindness instead of hesitation.
💛 This post is about love; the kind that requires nothing in return.
As for my part… I simply wanted to add a little sweetness to his day. A small sprinkle of sugar wrapped in a lot of love. I made him a s'more cake (chocolate cake filled with marshmallow fluff, crushed graham crackers, and wrapped in vanilla buttercream) because if a cake can make someone smile on a hard day, then that’s exactly what a cake should do.
I didn’t do it for attention. I didn’t do it to be seen. I did it because kindness matters. Because Caden matters.
Because his story touched my heart the exact way I think it touched so many others in the community.
To Caden: you are strength, you are faith, and you are light. Thank you for letting all of us be part of your journey, even in the smallest ways.
To the Seminole community: thank you for proving, once again, that love wins—every single time ♡
