You are responsible for transporting the cake safely to its destination. All cakes are refrigerated for transport and should be taken directly and immediately to their destination. Cakes are to be transported on a flat surface (recommended areas are the
floorboard or the flat space in an air conditioned cargo) in a cold, air conditioned car. Transporting a cake on a slanted surface, such as a car seat or on a lap, can cause the cake to tilt, lean, buckle, or collapse. The Cake Lady is not responsible for any damage which is caused by improper transportation of the cake. If you need to transport the cake to a secondary location, the cake should be placed in the refrigerator until the time of transport. Transporting a warm cake is not recommended as warm cakes can tilt, lean, bulge, or collapse. Upon arriving at your destination, it is best practice to open the box and view the cake to ensure it is up to your expectations. All cakes should be kept in the fridge to ensure stability. A warm cake may lean, tilt, produce air bubbles, bulge, and even collapse. If the cake must be kept at room temperature, place it in a cool room away from sunlight The Cake Lady is not responsible for damage caused by improper storage. Cake is best eaten at room temperature, as a cold cake will taste dry and flavorless. Please ensure that your cake comes to room temperature before serving. For 6 inch cakes, one hour is the minimum recommended defrost time if defrosting indoors and in a cool room. If outside or in direct sun, it is recommended that cakes are served within 30 minutes to avoid melting. Larger cakes and cakes with a ganache filling will take longer to defrost, so please plan accordingly. If you are unsure how long it will take for your cake to come to room temperature, please consult with The Cake Lady. All sales are final. If you need to cancel or reschedule the cake for any reason, please email or text as soon as possible with the details and describe if you are requesting a refund or needing to change date.
