What is the most important thing in learning as a young child?

🤔 Traditional schooling says curriculum.

🧐 Montessori says concentration.

🥰 Waldorf says the child's inner experience.

Although, those three ingredients do help bake the educational cake...they do not make the cake rise.

What makes the educational cake rise is the relationships. Who is the teacher? Who is the student? Who surrounds that student? How healthy are these relationships?

At Airie, we are inspired by the Reggio-Emilia, Levi Vygotsky, and Mr. Rogers's philosophies. Social learning through play happens in trusting relationships. Trusting relationships take an adult who is willing to wait.

🕑 Wait for them to process.

🕒 Wait for them to finish their idea.

🕖 Wait for them to make that connection.

We have designed the entire campus with intention to provide the freedom to learn in a yes space. We focus on connecting with each child in a way that makes them feel respected and loved. We support them in the moment when they are navigating the intricacies of collaboration because we value the moment.

A Mother's Day Art Class in Nature

Join us for a joyful experimentation with art nestled in nature, where mothers and children create side by side. Together, we’ll slow down, observe the beauty around us, and translate it onto paper through gentle guidance and open-ended exploration.

WHEN: Thursday, 5/7/26
TIME: 10:30 a.m - 12:00 p.m.
WHAT: DIY Cyanotype Wildflower Paintings
PRICE: $20 for the first child + $5 per additional sibling
AGES: 3 - 10 years
WHERE: Airie's School Campus

There is no pressure to create something “perfect”—only an invitation to notice, connect, and enjoy the process. Whether sunprinting wildflowers, leaves, or the shifting light through the trees, this is a space to be present with your child and the natural world.

Each mother will go home with one beautifully unique piece of art from the heart!

Want to enhance your child's learning journey?

Airie's Expedition Club is for children ages 5 to 8 years who are choosing to homeschool for the 2026-2027 year.

Our drop-off experiences are always a joy, but the Expedition Club has been a family favorite for the past three years!

Your child will meet with similar aged peers once a week to learn more about the Tennessee ecosystems, historic culture, and ultimately what they are truly capable of outside.

This class is a beautiful blend of learning through hands-on experiences, physical challenges to improve their emotional intelligence, and dynamic academic disciplines.

Each class is guided by our Forest School certified teachers who take their degrees in early childhood education and biology to elevate your child's development. No parent prep work outside of gear!
