Making my grandsons bday cake and just wanted to reshare a tip I’ve shared before. When making buttercream, the first step is the whip your butter until it’s white like this. This is the most important step to getting white buttercream 🙂

It takes sevvvvvvvvveral mins on high for it to turn white. So be patient.

Someone I know was quoted 75/doz for the first doz and 45 for each additional doz cookies. Plus $5 each for individual wrapping. While no one knows how time consuming cookies are more than me, that is insanity.

For a simple cake literally no artwork on it from frosting just plastic decorations, to feed 25-30 people, $185.

Again, I know first hand how time consuming baking is but I would never I mean NEVER have a conscience I could live with if I charged that much. And this is not really unusual. Going rates are astronomical.

She also got quoted for a simple balloon arch I mean basically bare minimum at $385 plus $25 extra for early pic up.

How can people be so happy with themselves charging people like this! I wouldn’t even be able to sleep at night! 😡

Just finished up my last order. I’m calling it quits. I just don’t have the time or energy anymore and it’s showing in my work and I can’t accept that. Love to all who have been with me thru the years 🫶🏻🎂 God bless.

Forgot to post this at Thanksgiving but for the family this was a german chocolate with a chocolate ganache coating and pecans and coconut garnish on top and it was delicious!
