Clarksburg Firefighters IAFF Local 89

Clarksburg Firefighters IAFF Local 89 Clarksburg Local 89 is a proud member of the IAFF, PFFWV, and AFL-CIO. The Local is made up of 44 active members and 30 retired members.

The objective and goal of this Local Union is to promote their working conditions, to protect the rights and jobs of Local members and to seek a safe and healthful work environment. In addition, this Local shall seek to promote professionalism in the fire service.

Today on , and everyday we recognize and honor our Local 89 members who have battled cancer or continue to battle cancer.

🎗️ On , we honor survivors, support those still in the fight, and recognize the families, friends, and caregivers who stand beside them every step of the way.

As cancer remains one of the greatest occupational threats in the fire service, the IAFF will never stop pushing for the protections our members deserve.

A beautiful morning for a 5K. Our members were among the participants in the Derek Hotsinpiller Fallen Stars 5K, which honored a local hero and raised money for the scholarship. We were proud to lend our support in raising the American flag along with Bridgeport City Firefighters IAFF Local 3692. Really appreciated the chance to spend time in Charleston with members of the Clarksburg Fire Department who came down to talk about issues that matter to our first responders.

Every conversation we had was meaningful. Firefighters took time to meet with our leadership team, walk through specific issues, and share real stories from the field that help ensure fire safety stays front and center as we do our work at the Capitol.

I’m grateful not only to our Clarksburg firefighters, but to fire department members from across West Virginia who made the trip to Charleston. Taking the time to be here and share your experiences helps inform the decisions we make.
