Fun fact about me - I raise critically endangered chocolate turkeys to try and help bring them back into population so they do not become fully extinct .

The "chocolate turkey" isn't a candy , it is an actual breed of heritage poultry named for the solid , milk-chocolate color of its feathers, beaks, and feet . Before the Civil War , they were the turkey of choice in the American South . However , as food and livestock supplies were ravaged during the conflict , the population was almost completely wiped out .
