October 9th we had another strange occurrence here at Cops & Doughnuts. There was a faint voice heard saying all fireman report to help with fires across Michigan. Well Oct 8-9 1871 there were multiple large fires across Michigan. In this video you see no one was near or running through our oldest building when suddenly shelving with maple syrup gave way. What could this have been. Maybe the sugar maples that the syrup came from were mourning the loss of their ancestors ???

Remember the John video from April 27th !!!

Today during Coffee with a Cop a retiree from the University of Michigan Police Department brought an old badge she had purchased at a garage sale. She wanted the Clare City Police to have it. Officer Steven Sentz thought it would be best being added to the bakeries badge collection. She agreed. Here is the history of the badge.

The image shows a vintage or commemorative metal badge for a Great Lakes Expo Police Sergeant, likely connected to the historical Great Lakes Exposition held in Cleveland, Ohio, during the summers of 1936 and 1937.

Key Details

• Inscriptions: The top ribbon reads "GREAT LAKES EXPO", the center bar reads "SERGEANT", and the bottom ribbon reads "POLICE".
• Context: The Great Lakes Exposition was a major World's Fair-style event celebrating Cleveland's centennial, and local security or police-style badges/medallions were produced for event personnel or as souvenirs.
