When the garden gives lots of chive flowers, what do you make??

Chive Blossom Vinegar!

A few weeks ago a big weekend storm left me with many broken chive blossoms. I didn’t want to make butter or eat fresh as a salad garnish, and decided to try something new. It was a good decision. Swipe to see the beautiful color of the infused vinegar!

I thoroughly rinsed the flowers, placed in a jar, covered with white vinegar, dated the jar and stashed in a dark cupboard for two weeks. Then strained it through cheesecloth and into a fresh jar. So simple!

I started a second batch this morning with the remaining blooms. Two more weeks for a summer’s worth of deliciousness. 😉

From 4-7pm we have Happy Hour.
$6 cocktails and wine pours.

From 6-9pm Monte Lykins returns with LIVE acoustic rock!

On top of great music we'll also be serving our house made tortillas made from red corn from Branstrator Farm. We'll be using that in our quesadillas served with our house made salsa rojo. We'll be serving our Peruvian style empanadas.

We'll also be serving ravioli from . We have 3 varieties available:

~3 Cheese
~Basil, Lemon Ricotta
~Meat

These pair beautifully with our house wine!

It’s blueberry season in Ohio, and they are fantastic! 🫐

Each summer of my childhood was spent picking, eating and preserving the multitude of fruits and vegetables grown nearby; strawberries in Troy, Ohio, apples and pears and grapes in our yard, cherries from friends/relatives with bumper crops, plus veggies and herbs from our yard and from others who shared their bounty.

The simple connection to food and its origins has been lost for so many people, especially in urban areas. This is the core of Hungry Noodle’s existence, the trowel and the whisk, connecting farm & garden to your table, and the never-ending curiosity to explore the world in this one wild and precious life we’re given.
