We’re back at it!

Thank you for your patience with the last minute cancellation last week, I received so many kind messages from so many of you who just get it (motherhood).

One thing I learned last week - people are so much more understanding and loving than we ever give them credit for, and sometimes we need to just lead with our humanity. Those that get it, get it.

This is what small business support is SUPPOSED to look like. 🤍

Yesterday we set up shop at The Marmalade Lily in Loveland (The Marmalade Lily) for an event hosted by Cincinnati Skin Center (Cincinnati Skin Center) planned to perfection by Courtney (Courtney Curtis).

Attendees started with pilates led by The Breathing Room (The Breathing Room | XFORM + PILATES in Cincinnati), then shopped with a lineup of local small business owners.

At our table: affirmation cookies. Pull a note from the jar, get the cookie that matches it.

So many women told us it was exactly what they needed to hear this season 🥹.

Grateful for mornings like yesterday, they light me up. To kailah🐞 thanks for showing up with me.

BAD NEWS BEARS. The cart tomorrow is CANCELLED!

After one of the hardest weeks we’ve had in a very long time I’m making the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow’s Blended Bakes Farmstand pop-up and I’m rescheduling it for next Saturday from 10 to 6 PM.

All week long I was betting on it being a more seamless week now that the kids were back in school (thinking I could get tons done) but it was quite the opposite with my youngest starting preschool and struggling with separation anxiety. I want to be honest about this because I feel like so many mothers who are small business owners don’t talk about it. We suffer in silence.

We don’t share how hard it is to bake over 200 items each weekend with kids asking for snacks, making spills and missing bedtime cuddles with our spouses to build something we believe in.

We don’t talk about BUILDING IN THE MARGINS of life.

The cancelled events.
The missed opportunities.
The friends we don’t spend time with.
Or the invites we never even receive because people seem to answer the RSVP before ever extending the invite.

If you are someone building in the margins, I am here for you and I see you.

Like you, I sometimes have to cancel last minute and I worry about what people will think of the way I’m running my business (“do they think I’m unreliable?”)

Before kids I was VERY TYPE A.

With kids I’m embracing being Type A, B or C on any given day. I’m building in the margins, and one day it won’t always be this way.

This weekend, I am prioritizing my custom orders and an event I have on Sunday but I can’t wait to bake for you all next weekend.

If you were looking for sourdough bread, message me, the sourdough loaves were the only thing I was about to get done with my toddler attached at my hip.

School is in session and so are we!

The next farmstand is happening this week. Come visit this Saturday, August 29 from 10-6!

The last cart was two weeks ago and we sold out in the first two hours so I strongly recommend pre-ordering select items from our menu and arriving early!
