In the years I’ve been baking, I’ve made a lot of good, I’ve even made a lot of great, but I’m a TOUGH critic. We all like what we like 🤷🏼‍♀️

Almost every single thing I send out of this kitchen, I’ve tasted and tried myself. If it passes my taste test inspection, all systems are go!

I taste and try soooooooooo much that believe it or not, I can really get sick of how good it is. It’s also why I love your feedback. A new, fresh set of tastebuds.

Anyway, this ole girl right here, she absolutely wrecked me- and trust me when I tell you what level something has to be at to accomplish this.

Italian Cannoli Cake 🇮🇹

If you love a cannoli, this is what your life has been missing. I just can’t even begin to describe. I could rattle off the list of ingredients, but you just won’t understand until you’ve experienced for yourself.

The cake is just perfect. Light, mildly sweet, a teeny little hint of zest, and the frosting is literally from another universe.

I LOVE chocolate, but it can get rich quickly. This gives you your chocolate fix without being overwhelming.

The icing is made from fresh ricotta & mascarpone cheese. It’s authentic, it’s sensational, and it’s my absolute favorite!

🍰 CAKE FOR A CAUSE 🍰

Christiansburg & the NRV, I need YOUR help! It’s the holidays and now is the perfect time to participate in an act of kindness or pay it forward!

Meet Graysen! His mama is a local photographer and friend of mine! Graysen is seven weeks old and has Mucopdysaccharidosis Type 1 (MPS1), Hurler Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder where his body can't break down the sugars that build up. This causes damage to his whole body. MPS1 is a severe condition that can impact Graysen's development over time and could result in death. Little Graysen, his mom, dad and grandparents need our financial help to care for and support Graysen over the next year of his life and beyond as he fights MPS1.

Little Graysen's best option is a bone marrow/stem cell transplant, which is a year-long process. Between 3 and 4 months of age, little Graysen will check in at the hospital (Duke). After ten days of quarantine, he will undergo high-dose chemotherapy for ten days that will wipe out his immune system. Once the stem cell infusion begins and is complete, he and his extended family will remain in or near the hospital for 100 - 180 days to be monitored closely. During this time, there will be frequent checkups and bloodwork, which will continue after Graysen is allowed to return home.

Even with a successful stem cell infusion, doctors warn the chance exists that his body would reject the treatment. The first year will be critical and difficult for Graysen and his family. Graysen will face other challenges as time passes because the treatment will not correct everything. Graysen will face lifelong surgeries to help him live a close-to-normal life. Still, the family remains hopeful for the best outcome and is grateful for your prayers and support.

I’m creating a fundraiser for this precious angel! I’ll be accepting orders now through Sunday, November 13th. All orders will need to be picked up by November 20th. I typically meet customers at Kroger in Christiansburg.

The menu & offerings are very simple and straightforward, as I want to keep cost low, and donations high.

1 dozen vanilla cupcakes: $30
1 dozen chocolate cupcakes: $30
1 dozen strawberry cupcakes: $30

I won’t be offering any other flavors or special decoration for this fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds go directly to this precious baby, and if you’d like to “tip” extra, that’s welcome as well!

I LOVE when couples get a little something special for just them!

This is a homemade strawberry cake with cream cheese icing. I used an entire carton of strawberry to make this cake and boy was it delicious! 🍓
