Last week I got to make the sweetest cake for a Sweet Sixteen party to celebrate a lovely lady. She chose a 6” vanilla cake with soft pink vanilla buttercream frosting and sugar pearls to complete the look. Custom cakes are probably one of my favorite things to make because they allow me to use different decorating techniques which is so much fun. Do you have a fun idea for a cake? I had some more baby shower cupcakes come out of the kitchen this weekend and they turned out so sweet! This customer always gives me some creative freedom when it comes the cakes and cupcakes she orders and I love it! This time I decided upon half chocolate and vanilla cake with light green vanilla buttercream and custom made cake toppers. Do you want to try some on my custom creations? This week I had an order for the sweetest baby shower cake. This 8” vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream was a blast to create. One of my favorite parts about decorating a cake is mixing piping techniques. And for this cake I got to mix not only techniques but also beautiful peach colors to create something perfect for this mama to be. What a fun cake that came out of the kitchen this week! This little man loves Jurassic Park and wanted to Dino cake for his party. Here we have a 6” chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream, topped with edible chocolate rocks! I have to say, chocolate rocks are probably my new favorite addition to cake because really, is there anything more fun than that?

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. I love baby showers! These cupcakes were so fun to make and I love the way that sprinkles add a little flare. I made these cupcakes in 4 flavors, chocolate, gluten free chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry.

Do you love a winter wedding as much as I do? (I may be biased since I had one myself). Today I was able to deliver and set up this wedding cake for the sweetest bride and groom. I loved ever minute of this process from the first time I met them at the consultation and tasting, to seeing the brides face when I showed her the cake today. When a customer (who happens to be a very dear friend) says, “I don’t care what you do, just put as much chocolate into one cake as possible” this is what comes out of the kitchen. And boy is it a big bite of rich goodness. 8” chocolate cake, with a whipped ganache filling and chocolate shaving between the layers, topped with chocolate buttercream, chocolate ganache drips and heaps of shaved chocolate to finish it all off. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to give this “death by chocolate” cake a try!
