I’ve followed Artisan sourdough groups for years, it’s how I was fortunate to “meet” and interact in DMs with Maurizio Leo(eek!fangirl!. His recently released book, The Perfect Loaf,is just exquisite. The science and thorough descriptions of each process will give insight just not available in any other I have in my library. He offers excellent foundation recipes and flavorful suggestions outside the norm we see so often. The photography, typography and layout is stunning, I wouldn’t expect anything less though. M is a perfectionist with a balance of humility, humor and kindness thrown in. As his career has grown with King Arthur,Food 52 and now, a bestselling book he remains a grounded, still approachable human bean🥰 If you are considering a sourdough journey I recommend his book.
