In our restaurant and bakery, everything is cooked or baked from scratch like Southern women in our family have for generations. We raise beef and pork that we sell to the public and use in our restaurant. We are especially known for our bbq, collards, and amazing desserts.

Soooo it’s been a minute since I posted here. How is everyone? Did you notice the pictures of the girls and how much they have grown up since I last posted?! 😳💕

I thought a few years ago that baking was a thing of the past. But I didn’t shut the social media pages down back then. There were so many memories here, and I always wanted to be able to look back at the photos and remember all the feels.

It used to be that when life seemed hard, I would bake. It was my stress relief. But the business grew, and baking became a job instead of a break. When I paused the business, I quit baking completely. And I told myself I didn’t miss it. And in many ways I didn’t. I didn’t miss people ordering and not showing up to pick up their items. I didn’t miss how owning a bakery felt during Covid when most social gatherings were put on hold. I didn’t miss people not understanding why my cakes were more expensive than a Walmart cake.

But I did miss the beauty of a simply decorated cake. I missed the connection to the women before me who passed the white velvet cake recipe down through our family. I missed the early days of the shop when it was mostly me baking with a couple of part-time helpers when I could afford them!

I have found it to be a season in my life that is hard… a season that I crave simplicity and the basics of life. Flour, sugar, eggs, butter… these are the basics of baking. And I miss how they come together to make sweet concoctions that families gather around to celebrate the joys and sorrows of life.

With that being said… I wanted to gauge your interest. Would anyone be interested in purchasing white velvet, lemon blueberry, or carrot cakes? I would be doing all of the baking myself, so options would be limited… 8 inch cakes with simple decorations only. If you are interested, please like, comment, share the post… something to let me know you are interested. If there is interest, then I will post a follow-up with details such as the number of orders I will accept each weekend. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful evening! Christian 😊💕🎂♥️
