After 43 years we will be moving from our current location. Our last business day will be this Sunday, Mother's Day. Many longtime small, family owned businesses in Chicago have closed recently but this is not the case so we want to emphasize that this is not a goodbye.
We will be back at a new, better and bigger location continuing to offer the best in Greek baked goods and pastries. We will also be adding food items to our menu. This is something that we've wanted to do for a long time but we were restricted in our current space in this now run down building.
We're going to take the summer off while we develop our menu and start building our new business from the ground up. We need a bit of a rest so we'll be travelling but also taking classes, learning new recipes and methods in order to come back even better.
To close will be emotional for us, indeed. We've literally spent our lives at this address and poured our hearts in to our work but it has given us so much in return. We've cultivated the most amazing customer base. With the best taste in food! The relationships and friendships made in this little shop are so precious to us. To put it simply is to take a line from the Beatles song, "The End":
"And in the end
The love you take
Is equal to the love you make"
That's why we'll be back, because it's worth it and it's all that matters. We'll keep this page going and update it with news and information when we have it. Our phone number will be remain operational as will our email: [email protected]. We may also be available for catering and special events.
Thank you to all that have stood by us as they are too many to name. Again, this is not a farewell. With all our love and admiration we wish you a great spring and summer and we'll be back up and running be before you know it. Please share.
