This week’s flavor is Honey Butter on Toast! 🐝🍯🧈🍞

Toasty cracker shells filled with whipped honey butter, topped off with maldon salt.

I love a sweet and salty treat…and I also love butter (like…who doesn’t?) These macs totally nailed the combo! The savory crackers in the shells, the wildflower honey, and that final hit of crumbly salt made for a really fun, dynamic flavor! I know some people were a little skeptical of this flavor, but they are nothing short of delightful.

This past week’s flavor was Carrot Cake! 🥕

Spiced shells filled with cream cheese buttercream and a carrot cake center.

Some super fun things are happening over here at The Weekly Mac and I’m gonna tell you all about it!

This past weekend I had the best time at ’s first Open House! Thanks so much to everyone who came out on Saturday! If you haven’t taken a yoga class there, make sure to check it out—it’s my fave studio in the city!

This coming Sunday (4/19) I’ll be popping up at ! I’ll be selling Strawberry Basil Lemonade macs, but I also filled a few more Carrot Cake shells that I had left over, so if you missed out this past week, you still have a chance to snag some!

I’m also freaking out (in the best way possible) that I was accepted into the Roscoe Village and Low-Line markets for this Summer!! Make sure to come see me Tuesdays on Southport and Sundays at Hamlin Park, starting in June!!

And finally, I just hired my first part-time employee! With the upcoming markets and other exciting things on the horizon, it’s time to start scaling up toward 90 dozen macs per week 😵‍💫 which I simply cannot do on my own. I’m the absolute luckiest to have join my team!! Christina runs her own custom sugar cookie business (go give her a follow—she’s soooo talented!) and will be helping me out on the side!

This past week’s flavor was two macs in one: Macaroon Macarons!

Classic shells filled with fudgy chocolate buttercream and chocolate chip macaroons, topped off with a dark chocolate drizzle.

MacaRONS are often confused with macaROONS. The names are so similar, it’s an easy mistake to make. Both are delicious, but they are quite different! I (very formally) describe macaroons as blobby, coconutty, Jewish cookies that you eat for Passover, whereas macarons are a fancy French, delicate sandwich cookie filled with buttercreams, ganaches, jams, etc.

It was so much fun to smash both types of macs together into one, delicious, hybrid treat.

This past week’s flavor was Lucky Charms! ☘️🌈🩷⭐️

Lucky Charms shells filled with Lucky Charms Buttercream, embellished with Lucky Charms Marshmallows. 

Since starting The Weekly Mac in 2017, I’ve made this flavor 3 times. And each time, I’ve said “I will never make these again.” But then time passes and I think about how cute they are, and I casually forget how labor-intensive the process is. Each of the marshmallows must be cut down to the correct size to fit around the edges of each mac, and arranged in an aesthetically-pleasing color pattern. (When I say “must be,” I fully realize this is a me-problem.) I do love how these taste exactly like a bowl of Lucky Charms in macaron form, so I’ll inevitably make them again someday.

It has been a long-running dream of mine to open an afternoon tea house. A few years ago, I thought I was going to quit my career in advertising and just go for it! But the pandemic hit, so the timing was obviously not meant to be. But the universe has definitely been universe-ing, and I still can’t believe I finally got to step away from a career that felt like it was killing me and go full time with The Weekly Mac. It has brought me so much joy to bake all of you macarons every week, and I love that I can also sprinkle in little nods to my future dreams along the way—like with these cream tea boxes filled with my absolute favorite treats.

Hi friends! Have you had enough of all of the preventable gun violence in America? Omg no way, me too. Any time there’s a mass shooting in the news, I make a donation to because they are doing everything they can to help end gun violence. And if you live here, you know that is a frequent occurrence. While in yet another pit of despair last month, I wanted to do a little something more to help. So I decided to leverage these delish little macarons to help raise some more money.

Check out my stories today 7/28 to participate in an auction for the chance to snag a dozen Cinnamon Toast Crunch macarons! The two highest bidders will each win a box. All proceeds will go to Everytown, and I will match it (up to $250).

Winning bidders must be able to pick up in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago, or be willing to pay $10 for shipping if located somewhere else within the contiguous US.

I first learned about Tajín a few years back from a friend at work. She had some at her desk and would sprinkle it on pretty much anything. One particularly busy week, someone got our team a giant bag of Albanese gummy bears, and at some point, Tajín was sprinkled on a grapefruit flavored bear. It sounds super gross, but is actually super wonderful—everyone tried it and agreed. And do you know what else is super wonderful? These mango Tajín macs. The spice brings out an extra zinginess in the mango that is just *chef’s kiss*.
