Here is how you can help WYfresh.
I love the farm stand on a personal level and I am glad that we can stock our item here if we want.
Many of you have asked how you can help. Well, we finally have some answers on what you all can do.
1) Engage here on social media
This one is hopefully easy. All you have to do is keep liking and commenting on our posts. The more engagement we get, the more the word gets out to followers and non-followers alike. If you want to go above and beyond the call you can share any of our posts to reach an even greater audience. The city is a lot more likely to listen and do something if they know so many people care about this situation.
2) Call, Email, or Send a Letter
Once again, the more the city knows that the public cares about us, the more likely they are to listen. We encourage you to first reach out to your city council members as they will be the ones voting. Reaching out to others beyond that could also be helpful: the mayor, the legislature, etc. We would ask that if you do choose to reach out please be kind and considerate to those you are speaking with. Kindness goes a long way and we want to amicably come to a positive resolution.
We also have a lose “script” we will post in the comments for anyone unsure what to say.
3) Sign Our Online Petition
When participate in a meeting regarding our potential forced annexation it is powerful to show how much the community wants WYfresh to operate as is. It only takes a few seconds, but sheer numbers can speak volumes. You do not need to live in the city of Cheyenne to sign this. We have a virtual petition at https://c.org/9FwfttPJLJ and a physical one at the farmstand. The virtual petition may ask you to sponsor/promote it for a fee. You have no obligation to do so and the money doesn't support the farm.
4) Attend A Meeting
There is a city council meeting coming up on February 9 at 6:00PM. in the City Council Chambers at 2101 O’Neil Ave. They also stream these meetings. We do not know yet where we will be on the docket. If you feel comfortable and want to attend, it would be helpful. They do allow public comments but do not feel obligated to speak. Even just showing up in solidarity would be welcomed. If you do speak, we once again ask that you do so with kindness and tact. If you are unsure what you could say feel free to comment below or send us a message and we can help.
We appreciate any effort to support us. You do not have to do any of the things we mentioned, but any help is greatly appreciated. We are blown away by all of your continued support.
