My mother Robin started making cakes in the early 80s, shortly after I was born. She told me, "I started the cake business so that I could be home with you and your sister". In recent months since she has gone home to bake for the Lord, I have struggled what to do about her cakes and her business.

After talking with my family, I have decided to try to keep her unique style of cakes around. Over the next few months, I will be selling an exclusive limited edition of small cake trays. They will only be available for preorder online on specific days and times. The first being the day before Mother’s Day, Saturday May 11th at Boyd Park in Cheverly, Maryland.

I have decided on this structure so that I don't overwhelm myself or my family as test this process. Other types and styles of cakes may become available in the future, but I am not currently taking custom orders.

Another reason I am doing this is because unfortunately we are still going through the complicated process of securing her estate and it is still undetermined how many creditors will be looking for compensation. The sale of these cakes will help to offset any of these costs. If you don’t wish to purchase cakes at this time an incredible way to honor my mother’s memory and to support my efforts to continue her cake legacy is by donating financially.

As many of you know my mother was ALWAYS baking. When she passed there were still cakes in the freezer so Chanice McClain suggested that we bring one to the wedding. We ended up bringing 3.

This one is two teir… icing made by and decorated by me. I am no where near my mother’s skill level but the taste was perfect.

It is with a heavy heart that I (Nathan, Robin's son) am sharing the announcement that Sweet Bobbies Cake Creations is officially closed due to Robin's passing back on the 29th of September.

My family and I want to thank everyone for all of the support you have shown to this business over the years. Making cakes to help people celebrate their happiest days was one of things my mother loved most in life.

I plan to keep this page up so that people can view all of the cakes she had done over the years. But the business is officially closed.

How have you been blessed to know Robin?
When was it that you were first loved and encouraged, nurtured and supported--by her presence, her generosity, and her beautiful and delicious bakery creations?

A quiet and determined voice for justice, equality, and peace, Robin has never hesitated to step forward to do and to give. She has uplifted and inspired her family and friends and made her community a better place to call home--for all of us.

Robin was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer months ago. She met her diagnosis with an unsurpassed determination that her cancer would not define her--that she would embrace treatment and continue to live a healthy and gratitude-filled life.

After trying months of treatment, Robin has needed to stop her chemotherapy and to step back from her baking. She needs our help to allow herself to rest, to set aside worries over how to catch up with the mortgage payments and medical bills or how she'll pay utilities or her phone bill.

Right now, all Robin's focus needs to be on celebrating her life--with her family, friends, and community by her side. Please, give generously and share widely so that Robin can set aside her financial worries

For as long as she has been able to sift and stir, her baking has served as her art and her ministry--offering testimony to a good life, well and generously lived. Throughput these past months, she has continued to bake for birthdays and celebrations, and even for weddings. Even as she grew increasingly tired, she would rest for a couple of days after chemotherapy and then rise up to bake again. She has never not worked to earn her way, and now it is time to rest from her labors

We will continue to add to Robin's story in the time ahead.
